The Joy of Bill

Bill Walton is often called the best college basketball player ever. He was an unstoppable force on the John Wooden coached UCLA Bruins of the 70’s.  Walton went on to win a couple of NBA titles through an injury riddled professional career.  Sadly, Walton died last week at the age of 71.  And while there have been retrospectives about his career achievements in both college and the pros, far more time has been spent talking about Walton as a person and the joy he brought to others.  ESPN NBA announcer Mike Breen shares one such story about Walton’s kindness with Breen’s father towards the end of his life.  Bill was an incredible talent on the court, but he was even better off of it.  Rest in peace, Bill.
