Life of Nimbus

“Home of the World’s Worst Weather” . . . Mount Washington Observatory sits on top of Northeastern America’s highest peak. Researchers at the observatory perform research to advance understanding of the Earth’s climate and weather. Those who work at Mount Washington take shifts with eight days on and six days off with the exception of Nimbus the cat. Nimbus is the latest in a long line of cats that have been at the Mount Washington Observatory since 1932. Nimbus performs vital roles such as catching mice, writing his own column in the observatory magazine, and posing for one of the station’s calendars. Most importantly Nimbus keeps the researchers company and makes the observatory feel like home. Click the links below to read more about the life of Nimbus.
