I was captivated by her innocence and smile, but also her passion and giftedness. Here is a 12-year-old girl, Gitanjali Rao, who has developed a mechanism for detecting contaminants in drinking water. She heard about the toxic lead levels in drinking water in Flint, MI and decided that something had to be done about it. Seeing young people inspired to help others, and change the world, is nothing short of beautiful.
