To some, Ikie Brooks is an unlikely college student. He grew up in West Virginia and witnessed the struggle of drug addiction daily in his home. To fight against that, he started the Gear Up program as a seventh grader. The program encourages kids to seek higher education. It’s an amazing program, and he continues to inspire kids to reach higher.
