The events of last week are heartbreaking. The week began with pipe bombs in the mail. There was a shooting midweek at a grocery store in Kentucky. Then the week ended with eleven dead at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. Yet, we can learn kindness from the people in Pittsburgh and how they reacted to the violence in their city. They remembered a former neighbor who lived near the synagogue, Mr. Rogers. His mother told him, “You’ll always find somebody who’s trying to help.” Pittsburgh reached out and tried to help.
