Apollo 11 has been celebrated a lot this month. Fifty years ago man walked on the moon. Amazing. Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, received thousands and thousands of letters after that feat. Those letters are kept at Purdue University and the subject of an upcoming book. One letter stuck with the astronaut, a letter from a 14-year-old boy. Mr. Armstrong reached out and brought that boy great joy.

Great story. There is so much we never hear about what many of these “celebrities” do in the background.

Agreed. The story was interesting in that Neil Armstrong wanted to be known for his life’s work, not the one event. He didn’t promote himself. Refreshing.
