Running for Inspiration

Tommy Rivers Puzey should probably be dead.  Instead, he completed the New York City Marathon earlier this month.  Last summer Puzey was diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoma. He went through chemotherapy and spent two and half months in the ICU. In the past year he lost 75 pounds and has had to relearn even the most simple tasks.  Puzey is a world class marathon runner known for being a fierce competitor and a gentle soul.  He was told that even if he survived he would be on a ventilator the rest of his life.  Eventually doctors stopped giving projections as he continues to surpass them.  During the race, he said he was pulled along by the people who lined the race route. He measured his progress not by mile markers but between expressions of love and inspiration he felt along the way. Click the link below to be inspired by him.
