Long Island High School teacher Anthony Simonelli got the surprise of a lifetime in 2026! After 25 years of offering his students a $100 reward to ace the New York State Chemistry Regents exam, JoJo Yawson achieved what over 3700 students could not — a 100% score for a $100 reward! Now Mr. Simonelli hopes to overcome another challenge by finding a mentor for JoJo who has a very bright future! After picking his jaw up off the floor in surprise at JoJo’s accomplishment, he has also doubled the reward for the next student to ace the exam. We wish good luck and best wishes to Mr. Simonelli’s students who accept the challenge! Click the link below to read about this great accomplishment.
