Leah Chase is the owner of Dooky Chase’s Restaurant in New Orleans. She’s 96 years old and still cooking up her special gumbo, but she’s known for far more than being the Queen of Creole Cuisine. She brought fine dining for African-American customers to New Orleans, and her restaurant was a gathering place for Civil Rights Activists.
