Simple moments and kindness bring unexpected joy to everyday life. A friend told me an amazing story about her vacation in Mexico this spring. The young man pictured was a helper on a water taxi in Cabo San Lucas with American vacationers going to “lands end.” Suddenly the boat turned around, and the captain said that this young man had noticed a bird in the water was drowning as its face was underwater. The boat went straight to the bird, and he picked it out of the water, tenderly wrapped it in his shirt to warm it up, and started stroking its head to comfort it. He caressed it back to life! The bird eventually started perking up and when the water taxi arrived at Lovers Beach, he gave it to one of the passengers to let it go on land!
