A retiring Arizona teacher is being celebrated for a legacy that goes far beyond the classroom. Over nearly 30 years at Highland High School in Gilbert, Bob Allen built a culture of service where students didn’t just learn lessons, they lived them. Through his service-learning program, students logged more than 650,000 hours of community service and helped organize nearly 17,000 blood donations across the Valley. The projects ranged from helping local nonprofits to organizing drives and supporting community needs.
